Unternehmesbild als Design Element

Students (m/f/d) for a thesis on the centralised management of a machine capability

Become part of an internationally successful industrial company and benefit from a strong community with over 8,800 colleagues worldwide. As a leading supplier of industrial machine needles, precision parts, fine tools as well as systems and services for the production and joining of textile surfaces,
Groz-Beckert combines creativity with a passion for textiles. Find your opportunity to join us and be infected by the fascination!

Are you looking for a place to write your thesis?

Do you want to apply and expand your theoretical knowledge in a practical setting? Would you also like to gain insights into a global company and the world of textiles? Then you’ve come to the right place, because Groz-Beckert offers you this opportunity—seize it!

Objective of the Thesis:

Weft yarn transport in air-jet weaving is significantly influenced by the flow conditions within the air-jet weaving system. Dynamic pressure plays a central role in this process; however, its effects have not yet been fully understood. The objective of this thesis is to investigate the fundamentals, influencing factors, and mechanisms of action of dynamic pressure in the air-jet weaving process. To this end, the current state of science and technology will be analyzed, relationships to weft yarn transport will be evaluated, and potential areas for future research and development will be identified.

How you can support us:

  • Research into the physical fundamentals and fluid dynamics of dynamic pressure
  • Analysis of relevant models and influencing factors in the generation of dynamic pressure
  • Research into the current state of knowledge regarding dynamic pressure in the air-jet weaving process
  • Investigating the “incorporation” of pressure as well as interactions with airflow, yarn, and weft transport
  • Reviewing and evaluating scientific publications, patents, and industrial solutions
  • Compiling the findings into a consolidated state of the art in science and technology
  • Identifying knowledge gaps and deriving starting points for further investigation

What you should bring along:

  • Preferably currently pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, physics, textile engineering, production engineering, or a comparable technical field
  • Strong analytical skills and a solid foundational understanding of physics and engineering
  • A passion for systematically analyzing, organizing, and summarizing complex interrelationships
  • High motivation for independent research, a proactive approach, and a passion for conceptual work
  • Ability to engage in focused discussions with various contacts from industry and research
