Head of Financial Accounting/Accounting (m/f/d)

The TKM Group is an international group of companies and one of the world's leading manufacturers of machine knives for the paper, metal, wood and plastics industries. We have about 750 employees around the world.

For our location in Remscheid, Germany we are looking for the following position:

Your responsibilities:

• Technical and disciplinary management of the accounting department 
• Control of fixed assets, general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable. 
• Ensuring complete accounting for the parent company and German subsidiaries 
• Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
• (Participation in) preparation of monthly VAT returns and statistical reports
• Participation in the development of financial accounting processes and systems
• Contact person for commercial law/tax and accounting issues of the German locations 
• Contact person for auditors, tax consultants, banks, credit insurers and representatives of public authorities
• Responsible for accounts receivable management
• Intercompany reconciliations and short-term liquidity planning for the German companies

What you bring:

• Accountancy qualification, university degree or equivalent 
• At least 5 years of professional and management experience in (balance sheet) accounting, HGB and tax law 
• Independent, meticulous and conscientious working style
• Strong communication and advisory skills
• Leadership, teamwork, hands-on mentality and enjoyment of the role of a collaborative manager 
• Confident use of SAP/FI and MS Office
• English language skills desirable
